Dan number plates
A registration reading DAN, for Dan, Daniel or Danny, is a Dan number plate. Each seller listing shows every DAN plate we found, all-in, and the cheapest comes first.
Dan number plates, cheapest all-in
An all-in total covers the plate, VAT, and the £80 assignment fee from DVLA. Prices stay sorted cheapest first, and that order never changes; buying through a link may earn us a fee (commission disclosure).

How DAN shows up on a plate
A current-style age identifier comes before DAN at the end of most Dan private plates, as in AG57 DAN. Plenty of them exist, so prices remain low. Prefix plates, such as A9 DAN, show one year letter at the front and read cleanly, because the short number sits right against the name.
Dateless plates, such as 20 DAN or 325 DAN, sit highest in the range. Because they carry no year, they fit any car. A low number turns a DAN 1 style plate into the dearest of all. Some buyers see a 4 as an A to get a D4N look, though on the road you cannot change the spacing or the characters.
Look at the year
A dated Dan reg plate cannot be newer than your car, because a plate never makes a car look newer than the car's true age. Compare further names on plates with names, or try the plate search tool.
