Commission disclosure

Buying a plate through a link we have marked as a dealer link may bring us a fee. The order of prices stays the same, and so does what you pay.

How we may get paid

Beside each seller's price, the "Go to" buttons work as dealer links. There are sellers who may pay us a fee if you make a purchase through one of these links. The page code marks each dealer link as sponsored (rel="sponsored"), which makes the link clearly commercial to search engines and browsers.

We do not sell plates, we do not show display ads, and we do not charge you anything. Payment goes straight to the seller, and the price is the same whether you arrive via our link or visit the seller yourself.

Things a fee never changes

  • Order. Sorting uses the all-in price, so the cheapest seller comes first. A seller that pays us stays in the position its price gives it.
  • Price. We show each seller's price, and where a seller leaves VAT and the £80 DVLA assignment fee out, we add them back.
  • Who appears. Sellers we check that list the plate all appear, whether or not they pay us.

No paid placementssssssss

Paying cannot move a seller up, cannot make it the best price shown, and cannot keep it listed when it does not offer the plate. The site has no sponsored positions.

How ranking works

One criterion decides the ranking: the all-in price. Each seller's price is worked out as explained on how we check prices.

Rules we follow

Marketing has to be obviously identifiable as marketing. The UK advertising rules are set out in the CAP Code, and the Advertising Standards Authority enforces them. Dealer links get a label, and this page exists, because of that rule.

The Competition and Markets Authority's advice for comparison sites says, in plain words, what a comparison site should do. It should say how results are ranked, and tell you about any commercial relationship which could affect what you see. It should not allow payments to quietly change the results. We set out our ranking rule, we tell you that we may be paid, and we never take payment for a position.

Tell us on our complaints and corrections page if a ranking or link does not match what this page says.
