Cookies
No cookies are set by this site. One small item stays in your browser so the plate finder can recall your choices, and it never travels off your device.
Cookies
Neither our own cookies nor anyone else's are set by privateplatecompare.co.uk. Nothing is stored for tracking or advertising, so there is no cookie banner and no consent for you to give.
The single item we store
The plate finder holds on to the car year and budget you last chose, ready for your next visit. Your browser's localStorage keeps them under the key "v92.prefs".
| Item | Where | What it holds | Sent to us? |
|---|---|---|---|
| v92.prefs | localStorage | Your last car year and budget | No |
A feature you use needs this. It stays on your device, and neither we nor anyone else reads it. It goes away if you clear the site data for privateplatecompare.co.uk from your browser settings. Without it, the finder still works; it only starts blank.
We use no third-party trackers
We load no analytics tags, no advertising pixels, no social media widgets and no other third-party scripts. We record only anonymous page events, and they go to our own endpoint with no cookies and no identifiers. Our privacy notice sets out the details.
Dealer websites
Following a dealer link or a GOV.UK link takes you off this site. Those sites may place their own cookies under their own policies.
