About privateplatecompare
At every seller we check, privateplatecompare.co.uk lists the same private number plate, and each price becomes one all-in figure, cheapest first. We are neither a dealer nor DVLA.
The sellers that we check
For each seller, what its listed price already covers.

In our check, 4 sellers list C24 WOW. We turn each listed price into what you pay: where a seller leaves out VAT and the £80 DVLA fee, we add them in, then sort the results cheapest first.

| Seller | Listed price | VAT and fee added | All-in |

Yellowhite | £371 | + £154 | £525 |

What our comparisons cover
For most plates on sale, more than one dealer lists them, often at prices that differ. Some sellers include the £80 DVLA assignment fee and VAT in the price they quote. Others leave both out. That means the headline numbers are not comparable.
- At each seller, we check the same registration.
- We put back whatever the listed price misses: VAT, the £80 fee, or both.
- For each seller we show a single all-in price, cheapest first. The purchase is made on the seller's own site, from the seller you pick.
How we check prices gives the rule for each seller.
Things we are not
- We are not dealers. We do not sell plates or take payments, and we do not hold registrations or issue certificates of entitlement. Your contract is with the seller when you buy.
- We are not DVLA, and we have no link to it. DVLA Personalised Registrations appears among the sellers we compare, like any other. How we use the name is set out in our DVLA trade-mark notice.
How we earn money
A link marked as a dealer link may bring us a fee when you buy through it. The order of prices and the price you pay never change because of that fee, and no seller can pay to be listed higher. Our commission disclosure has the details.
How we write our guides
Our guides about buying, transferring and keeping a plate begin at GOV.UK. We take dealer facts from that dealer's own pages. Our editorial policy explains how pages are sourced and how mistakes are corrected.
